Customer Ship Tours on ATLANTIC SEA
[Created: 1 December 2025]
October 2025 – The scheduled drydocking of Atlantic Container Line’s Atlantic Sea has been successfully completed. The vessel received a full hull repaint, system upgrades below deck, and comprehensive inspections of structural components, ballast tanks, and machinery. Upon departure from the shipyard and the return to service, the crew took pride in seeing the vessel restored to full operational readiness for her transatlantic rotation.
To mark the completion of the project, ACL’s management team hosted a series of open-ship events, giving customers the opportunity to tour Atlantic Container Line’s combination Container/Roll-on/Roll-off vessel.
The first event was held in Hamburg, Germany, where customers were welcomed aboard and guided through the RORO decks and ACL’s unique steel container cell guides, now fully refreshed following the drydock.
The vessel then continued to Antwerp, Belgium, where visitors toured the vessels passageways, reviewed recently overhauled machinery spaces, and spoke with crew members on the weather deck.
In Liverpool, England, long-standing customers joined the tour to see firsthand the ship that supports ACL’s transatlantic service. On the bridge, visitors viewed the vessel’s navigation systems and instrumentation.
The open-ship tour series concluded in ACL’s North American ports. In the Port of New York and New Jersey, guests marveled at the scale of the vessel’s cargo operations with the NYC skyline in view. While in Baltimore, attendees reconnected with ACL personnel and shared memories of past generations of ACL vessels.
Across all locations, the events celebrated the vessel’s renewed condition, the professionalism of her crew, and the essential role the Atlantic Sea plays in linking Europe and North America through ACL’s weekly service. Customers departed with a heightened understanding of the vessel, her capabilities, and the all the dedicated people behind the scenes who operate her.
The Atlantic Sea returned to service not only structurally and technically renewed, but it also was reintroduced to the many customers who rely on her and ACL every week.
