Containerized Vehicle Declaration
Effective August 2024, Atlantic Container Line will no longer require Customs Stamped Titles for used autos in containers. The Shipper/Exporter will be responsible for meeting all U S Customs and Border Protection requirements. If an automobile is loaded to the vessel and is ordered back to the U. S. Port by the U. S. Customs and Border Protection, all cost will be for the shipper/booking party’s account as stated in Rule 2-AN.
We require all shippers of used autos in containers to confirm that they have met all U. S. Customs requirements 24 hours prior to vessel closing. Failure to do so will result in the Carrier not loading the cargo.
ACL will also require our shipper declaration form to be completed, certifying the cargo is moving in compliance with SP961 of the IMDG code.
